Cote Lane
The site where the Trust had its beginnings in the early part of the last century, Cote Lane is the superb location of a combination of retirement accommodation and facilities around which exists a strong sense of community. Including a magnificent chapel and impressive listed buildings, Cote Lane is set against an extensive backdrop of stunning gardens and parkland adjacent to the Durdham Downs in Westbury-on-Trym and is home to more than 250 people. The accommodation here is made up of over 150 sheltered flats for rent and purchase and a 76-bed care home, which includes a specialist dementia care unit.
Westbury Fields
This purpose-built retirement village in Westbury-on-Trym was one of the first of its kind in the UK. Offering a range of tenures including lease purchase, part buy/part rent (shared ownership) and rented accommodation, the development has become a stimulating and vibrant community of more than 200 older people. Over 150 retirement/sheltered apartments and a 80-bed care home, which incorporates a specialist dementia care facility, are built around an expansive village green and cricket pitch which occupies a prominent position within the 12-acre site. A proportion of the accommodation here is available to council nominated older people as part of our partnership with Bristol City Council.
Monica Wills House
Situated in the busy urban setting of Bedminster, south Bristol, Monica Wills House is a development of 121 one and two bedroom flats that are available for lease purchase, part buy/part rent (shared ownership) or rent. Residents' front doors open into a striking central atrium that spans the height of the five-storey building and the roof garden offers a unique outdoor space with stunning views over the Bristol sky-line and beyond. A number of the flats are available for occupation by local authority nominated individuals as part of our partnership with Bristol City Council and all residents enjoy the convenience of Monica Wills House's proximity to the busy shopping area of Bedminster.
Sandford Station
In a rural setting, on the landmark site of the old Sandford railway station, in North Somerset, this innovative new care village will incorporate 108 high quality one, two and three bedroom homes all nestled into beautiful Somerset countryside, close to the Mendip Hills. The majority of this accommodation will be for lease purchase and reservations will be taken off-plan from early 2009. A small number of properties will be available to council nominated older people as part of our partnership with North Somerset Council.
The historic buildings on the site, including the former Station building, the Engine Shed, the Station Master's cottage and the farmhouse and barn are being carefully renovated. The Engine Shed will provide a fully licensed restaurant, and the other existing buildings will be converted into retirement accommodation available for lease purchase.
Adjacent to the new care village, the Trust is building a separate self-contained care home for residents living with dementia, opening in Spring 2009.
